Whetstones: Belgian Blue (BBW) Stone For Sharpening

NATURAL Whetstones From Belgium —-> Selected Quality.
These natural stones are from Ardennes, Belgium. The are select quality (highest grade). These stones are extracted from the earth alongside the yellowish coticules (also available to order here). The blue stone is more common than the yellow and is also said to have less/lower concentration of garnets (the abrasive which is the cutting component); making it on average a slightly slower cutter compared to the coticule. As these are natural (not synthetic), each stone will have its own unique qualities. Natural stones (as a general but not set rule) on average don’t cut quite as fast as synthetic (man-made) whetstones. This is a natural product condition and does not denote a faulty product in anyway, yet simply how they work. If you are new to natural sharpening whetstones please keep this in mind. If respected and looked after, these beautiful Belgian stones can last many many years and also offer one of the nicest finishes on tools and knives. Available in several sizes. Slurry stones can be purchased separately. Always use with water. When finished, dry before storing. Avoid using these stones dry.
